Help With Uploading Files
With our service you can enter your filers, recipients and forms by uploading comma-delimited or Excel files that contain
your information. Below are some guidelines to follow when preparing your files:
- We can read comma-delimited text files and Excel (up to Office 2007 format) only. We cannot read fixed width or tab-delimited
text files.
- Your file cannot exceed 2MB in size. If you attempt to upload a larger file, our system will truncate it and only
read a portion of your original file.
- For best performance, we recommend that you import no more than 500 records at a time.
- When reading your data, we consider each row in your text or Excel file to be a record. Each column in your text
or Excel file is a field.
- The first row in your text or Excel file must contain headers, which are the names of each of your fields. When you upload
a file to us, the first thing we will ask you to do is to match your fields to ours. In order to do this, you need to
provide your field names in your first row. When we actually import your data, we will not import the 1st row as we
expect this row to contain field names only.
Now, let's take a look at
how our upload process works.
